1、 What is solder paste?
Solder paste is a soldering material used in surface mount technology, mainly composed of fine tin powder and flux. When the surface of electronic components and circuit boards that belong to soldering is heated, the solder paste will melt and solder the electronic components and circuit boards together.
2、 Types of solder paste
According to different welding temperatures, solder paste can be divided into low temperature, medium temperature, and high temperature solder paste.
1. Low temperature solder paste
Low temperature solder paste has a temperature below 150 ° C during soldering, making it suitable for electronic components with strict soldering requirements. Low temperature solder paste has a lower melting point, which can reduce the damage of thermal stress to temperature sensitive components during soldering.
2. Medium temperature solder paste
The soldering temperature of medium temperature solder paste is between 150 ° C and 200 ° C, suitable for soldering surface mount components and thin board parts. The soldering effect of medium temperature solder paste is stronger than that of low-temperature solder paste, but the thermal stress will be slightly higher.
3. High temperature solder paste
When soldering high-temperature solder paste, the temperature should be above 200 ° C, suitable for high-power components such as LED lights and power modules. High temperature solder paste has higher thermal stress, but its welding strength and effect are better.
3、 Selection of solder paste
When selecting solder paste, the appropriate solder paste should be chosen according to the actual welding requirements. If the soldered components are temperature sensitive, it is recommended to choose low-temperature solder paste; If welding small and medium power consumption components, medium temperature solder paste can be selected; When welding high-power components or components with higher requirements for welding effect, high-temperature solder paste should be used.
In addition, it is recommended to choose a certified brand when purchasing solder paste to ensure product quality and welding effect.
In short, the selection of solder paste should be based on actual soldering needs and the characteristics of the components to achieve better soldering results.
