Circuit boards are generally customized products with varying shapes and performance. Based on our factory's years of production experience, they can be classified into the following types according to the number of layers:
1. Single sided flexible board
Lowest cost. When the electrical performance requirements are not high and single-sided wiring is possible, single-sided flexible boards should be selected. This most common form has been commercially applied, such as inkjet cartridges for printers and memory for computers. A single-sided flexible board has a conductive pattern chemically etched, and the conductive pattern layer on the flexible insulating substrate surface is rolled copper foil. The insulation substrates used for flexible assembly can be polyimide (Kapton), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), aramid fiber paper (Nomex), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
2. Double sided flexible board
Double sided flexible board is a conductive pattern made by etching on both sides of the base film. Metallized holes connect the patterns on both sides of insulating materials to form conductive pathways, meeting the design and functional requirements for flexibility. And the covering film can protect single and double-sided wires and indicate the position of component placement.
3. Multi layer flexible board
Multilayer flexible board is a type of board that laminates three or more layers of single-sided flexible circuit board or double-sided flexible circuit board together, and forms metalized holes through drilling and electroplating, creating conductive pathways between different layers. In this way, there is no need to use complex welding processes. Although the number of conductive layers designed for this flexible type can be infinite, in designing the layout, in order to ensure easy assembly, the mutual influence of assembly size, number of layers, and flexibility should be considered.
4. Rigid flex combination type
The traditional rigid flex plate is composed of a selectively layered combination of rigid and flexible substrates. The structure is compact, forming conductive connections through metalized holes. Considering reliability and price factors, manufacturers should try to maintain as few layers as possible.

It has been widely used in high-end electronic products such as aerospace technology, medical equipment, and cost.
