What is the dielectric constant of FPC soft board
When a medium is subjected to an external electric field, it will generate induced charges and weaken the electric field. The ratio of the original external electric field (in vacuum) to the electric field in the final medium is the permittivity, also known as the induced rate, which is frequency dependent. The permittivity is also known as the dielectric constant. So what is the dielectric constant of FPC soft board? Let me explain it in detail below.
Due to the fact that FPC materials are divided into two types, polyimide and polyester, we need to discuss them separately here.
1. Polyimide
Polyimide (PI) is the most commonly used thermosetting insulation material in flexible circuit processing. The thickness range of the material is generally 12.5 μ m (0.5mil) and 125 μ m (5mil). Divided into adhesive and non adhesive, the dielectric constant of adhesive is 3.5, and the dielectric constant of non adhesive is 3.3.
2. Polyester
Polyester is made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The thickness range for its application in flexible boards is generally 25 μ m (1mil) to 125 μ m (5mil). It has excellent flexibility and electrical performance, just like Polyimide.
But its dimensional stability during the manufacturing process is slightly worse than Polyimide's. In addition, its tear resistance is also poor and it is sensitive to welding temperature. Its dielectric constant is 3.4.
The above is the information compiled by the editor about the dielectric constant of FPC soft boards. We hope it is helpful to everyone. If there are still any unclear areas, please contact QQ, WeChat or phone on the right, and we will have professional personnel to answer your questions.
